Socrative Joins Showbie Inc.

Dear Socrative User,

For the past eight years, we have been fortunate to work with teachers around the world with our tools for fun and effective assessment. Our mission has always been to connect teachers with students as learning happens, and we’ve been honored to watch the global community grow to over 3.7 million educators.

Today we are excited to announce a new chapter for Socrative. Socrative will be joining Showbie Inc., to create an even more powerful suite of amazing assessment and feedback tools that enhance the learning journey.

Founded in 2012 and used by millions of students and teachers worldwide, Showbie provides teachers with classroom tools for fast, meaningful assignments and feedback. We think Socrative fans will be right at home in the Showbie community.

Your Socrative experience will remain seamless as we make this move, and over the course of the next few months, we’ll keep you informed about the transition. In the meantime, please read the Q&A below to learn more about this exciting news.

Q: How will this change affect my Socrative account?

A: Your Socrative account will not be affected. You can continue to use Socrative as always!

Q: I purchased Socrative Pro. Will this purchase be honoured by Showbie?

A: Yes, if you purchased Socrative Pro, your previous purchase will be honoured by Showbie and you will be able to continue using Socrative Pro for your remaining subscription term. At the end of the term, you can renew your Socrative Pro subscription as you normally would.

Q: Where can I learn more about Showbie?

A: Check out the Showbie website at showbie.com, or download Showbie for iOS on the App Store.

Q: What has changed in the Socrative Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?

A: The Terms and Privacy Policy have been updated to reflect Showbie Inc. as the parent company of Socrative, instead of MasteryConnect Inc. Some minor changes have been made in order to clarify user data rights, with respect to new European Union regulations. The substance of the agreements has not changed significantly compared to your previous agreement with MasteryConnect.

Q: What if I don't accept the new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?

A: By continuing to use Socrative after July 6, you agree to the new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may delete your Socrative account via your account settings. But we'll be sorry to see you go :(

Q: How does this affect MasteryConnect users?

A: There will not be any changes to your experience. MasteryConnect teachers and students will continue to access Socrative directly from their MasteryConnect web and mobile apps.

Q: Is the Socrative site/app getting merged with Showbie, or vice-versa?

A: No, Socrative will remain as a fantastic freestanding app and website, as will Showbie. In the future, we envision new features and benefits for those teachers who choose to use both apps in their classroom!
